Damper Motor Position Sensor Air Distribution, Signal Too High
Description
The air distribution damper motor contains a potentiometer which indicates the position of the damper to the control module. Diagnostic trouble code (DTC) ECC-222 is stored if the control module detects that the signal from the potentiometer is too high.
Cause and Solution
Open-circuit in the signal cableShort-circuit to supply voltage in the signal cable.Open-circuit in the ground lead.Short-circuit to supply voltage in the potentiometer power supply.Contact resistance in terminals.Defective damper motor.
