Manifold Pressure Throttle Position Correlation; High Flow Vacuum Leak

Manifold Pressure Throttle Position Correlation; High Flow Vacuum Leak

Description

Engine running in all drive modes. The relationship between the MAP Sensor and TP Sensor exceeds a predetermined value for a given engine speed. If vacuum drops below 1.5 in. Hg with engine rpm at more than 2000 rpm at closed throttle, or if an unexpectedly high intake manifold airflow exists that can lead to increased engine speed and puts the NGC (Ram) into a High Airflow Protection Limiting mode; in this case, rpm limits for when a TP Sensor and or MAP Sensor limp-in fault is present

Cause and Solution

Vacuum leak in hoses or component connectionsHigh resistance or resistance to ground in MAP 5v supply or signal circuitMAP Sensor has failedHigh resistance in MAP ground circuitTP Sensor has failed or is improperly adjustedHigh resistance or resistance to ground in TP Sensor 5v supply or signal circuitHigh resistance in TP Sensor ground circuitPCM has failed
