Communication Link To The Engine Control Module (ECM), Short-Circuit To Ground
Description
During the first two seconds the ignition is switched the immobilizer control module checks if the communication link between the immobilizer and engine control module are short-circuited to ground. If a fault is found Diagnostic trouble code (DTC) IMM-312 is stored. The diagnostic trouble code (DTC) is erased when the counter value reaches 254.
Cause and Solution
Short-circuit to ground on the communication link between immobilizer control module #4 (cars with engine control module (ECM) Motronic 4.4 and MSA 15.7) or #2 (cars with engine control module (ECM) Fenix 5.2) and engine control module at start.
