Vehicle Speed Sensor Intermittent
Description
This DTC sets when there is a concern with the vehicle speed data. Vehicle speed data is received from either the VSS or anti-lock brake system (ABS) control module. This DTC sets the same way as P0500. However, it is intended to flash the transmission control indicator lamp (TCIL) for first time VSS circuit error.
Cause and Solution
Noisy VSS input signal from the radio frequency interference electromagnetic interference (RFI EMI) external sources, such as ignition wires, the charging circuit or after market equipment
Diagnosis:
Verify the VSS input is 0 km h (0 mph) when the vehicle transmission is in PARK.
