Description

The Steering wheel angle sensor module (SAS) is located in the lever module together with the steering wheel module (SWM) and is supplied with power by it. Only the steering wheel angle sensor module (SAS) communicates on the controller area network (CAN). The Steering wheel angle sensor module (SAS) contains 2 x processors that operate together. The processors communicate with each other and continually check the communication that is transmitted between them. A diagnostic trouble code (DTC) is stored if the control module detects: Communication fault. The control modules test for the diagnostic trouble code (DTC) starts in the event of: Ignition switch position II.
