F-CAN Malfunction (Powertrain Control Module (PCM)-Motor Control Module (MCM))
Description
With the ignition switch turned ON for a minimum of 3 seconds and battery voltage a minimumof 10.0 V, one of the following conditions must be met. Condition 1: The PCM does not receive any signals via the F-CAN lines for at least 1 second. Condition 2: The information sent from the MCM is abnormal at least 20 times.
Cause and Solution
Poor connections or loose terminals at the Motor Control Module (MCM) and the PCM Open circuit between the MCM and ground Blown fuse Open or Short circuit between MCM relay 1 and the MCM Faulty MCM relay 1 MCM may need to be updated with the latest software Faulty MCM
