DIM Lost Communication With Trailer Module (TRM). General Failure Information
Description
The Driver information module (DIM) is continuously supplied with necessary information from the Trailer module (TRM). The Driver information module (DIM) checks communication with the Trailer module (TRM). The diagnostic trouble code (DTC) is stored if the control module detects that: No communication with the Trailer module (TRM). The control modules test for the diagnostic trouble code (DTC) starts in the event of: Control module supplied with power. Note! The control module can only detect the fault once the test has been started and the diagnostic trouble code (DTC) is stored when the conditions are met.
Cause and Solution
Open-circuit in the communication cable.Short-circuit to ground in the communication cable.Short-circuit to supply voltage in the communication cable.Contact resistance, oxidation or open-circuit in the terminals.
