Description

The Steering wheel angle sensor module (SAS) is located in the lever module together with the steering wheel module (SWM) and is supplied with power by it. Only the steering wheel angle sensor module (SAS) communicates on the controller area network (CAN). A diagnostic trouble code (DTC) is stored if the control module detects: The steering wheel angle sensor turns more than ±720º from the central position. There are four physical stops on the steering column so that the steering wheel, in normal cases, cannot be turned more than approximately ±540º from the central position. The control modules test for the diagnostic trouble code (DTC) starts in the event of: Ignition switch position II.
