DTC P0125 Acura
Engine Coolant Temperature (ECT) Sensor 1 Malfunction Slow Response
Engine Coolant Temperature (ECT) Sensor 1 Malfunction Slow Response
Description
As the engine coolant warms, the ECT sensor 1 resistance decreases, and the PCM detects a low signal voltage. If the ECT sensor 1 output voltage does not reach a specified temperature at which closed-loop control for stoichiometric air fuel ratio starts within a set time, depending on the initial coolant temperature after starting the engine, the PCM detects a malfunction. NOTE: Before you troubleshoot, record all freeze data and any on-board snapshot.
Cause and Solution
Poor connections or loose terminals at ECT sensor 1, ECT sensor 2, and the PCM
Low coolant level
Faulty thermostat
Faulty ECT sensor (1)
