IMA-CAN Malfunction (Powertrain Control Module (PCM)- Motor Control Module (MCM)) (HYBRID MODELS)
Description
With the ignition ON (ll) a minimum of 3 seconds and battery voltage at a minimum of 10.2 V, no signal from the PCM via the CAN lines are received for at least 1.0 second, or received data is abnomal at least 50 counts. (IMA system indicator is ON)
Cause and Solution
Poor connections or loose terminals at the PCM and the MCM Open or Short circuit between the PCM and the MCM Update the PCM if it does not have the latest software, or substitute a known-good PCM Update the MCM if it does not have the latest software, or substitute a known-good MCM
