Engine Coolant Temperature Sensor 1 Circuit Low Input
Description
Engine started (cold), battery voltage must be 11.5, and all equipment must be off. The ECM detected the ECT sensor signal was less than the self-test minimum. This is a thermistor-type sensor with a variable resistance that changes when exposed to different temperatures.
Cause and Solution
Check fuse
Check for signal, voltage and ground
Check harness for open or short
Replace ECT sensor
