Radiator Fan Control (RFC) System Malfunction
Description
With ignition switch ON (II) the RFC terminal voltage is low for at least 20 seconds, and the same condition continues even when the power reset is repeated 5 times. (Power is supplied for about 5 seconds after the power reset. ) NOTE: Before you troubleshoot, record all freeze data and any on-board snapshot.
Cause and Solution
Blown fuse
Radiator fan interference, or debris in the fan
Open circuit between the PCM and the RFC unit
Short circuit between the RFC unit relay and the fuse
Faulty fan motor
Faulty RFC unit
PCM may need to be updated with the latest software
