Vehicle Speed Sensor Circuit Low Input
Description
Engine started, engine speed from 1800-2500, system voltage from 11-16v, ECT sensor more than 140ºF, throttle angle from 10-40%, engine load over 50%, and the PCM did not detect any VSS signals for 12.5 seconds over a 15 second period during the CCM test.
Cause and Solution
VSS signal circuit is open or shorted to ground
VSS power circuit is open (check the Meter 10A fuse)
VSS ground circuit is open between the sensor and ground
VSS is damaged or has failed, or the VSS rotor is cracked
