Shift Solenoid Valve D Stuck ON
Description
When an improper gear ratio is output compared to the predetermined gear change mode, a shift solenoid valve D ON failure is detected. One of these conditions occur: The actual gear position is neutral for at least 3 seconds when 1st gear in-gear is commanded, though there is no history of being neutral when reverse gear in-gear is commanded. The actual gear position is neutral for at least 3 seconds, though 1st gear in-gear is commanded and reverse drive occurred during this driving cycle. NOTE: Before you troubleshoot, record all freeze data and any on-board snapshot.
Cause and Solution
Low or dirty transmission fluid
Faulty shift solenoid valve D
Faulty ATF pump and the regulator valve
Inspect the strainer for metal debris or excessive clutch material, if present
