Short in Transmission Gear Selection Switch Circuit, or Transmission Gear Selection Switch Stuck ON
Description
The S-MODE switch signal is turned on in P, R, N, and D3 for at least 10 seconds. The execution time is continuous and the duration time is 10 seconds or more. DTCs P0705, P0706, P0815, P0816, P0958 are not active. NOTE: This code is caused by an electrical circuit problem and cannot be caused by a mechanical problem in the transmission.
Cause and Solution
Faulty transmission gear selection switch
Poor connections and loose terminals at the transmission gear selection switch and the PCM
Short circuit between PCM connector terminal and the transmission gear selection switch
PCM may need to be updated with the latest software
