Gauge Control Module Lost Communication with Power Tailgate (PTG Message)
Description
Poor communication between the Gauge Control Module and the Power Tailgate. Inoperative or intermittent Power Tailgate operation. If DTCs B1155, B1156, B1157, B1158, B1180, and or B1182 are also indicated, perform the Gauge Control Module input test. If no other codes are present, perform the Power Tailgate Control Unit input test.
Cause and Solution
Loose or poor connections between the power tailgate control unit and the gauge control module
Blown fuse in the main under-hood fuse box
Blown fuse in the under-dash fuse relay box
Open or Short to ground at the Gauge Control Module
Open or Short to ground at the Power Tailgate Control Unit
Faulty Gauge Control Module
Faulty Power Tailgate Control Unit
Faulty Tailgate Drive Motor
