Short in Shift Solenoid Valve B Circuit
Description
The return signal does not match the command to turn ON shift solenoid valve B for at least 1 second. The execution time is continuous and the duration time is 2 seconds or more. DTCs P0977, P0979, P0980 are not active. NOTE: This code is caused by an electrical circuit problem and cannot be caused by a mechanical problem in the transmission.
Cause and Solution
Blown fuse
Poor connections and loose terminals at shift solenoid valve B and the PCM
Open in the wires between PCM connector terminals and ground, or poor ground
SHB wire for an intermittent short to ground between shift solenoid valve B and the PCM
Short in the wire between PCM connector terminal and the shift solenoid harness connector
Faulty shift solenoid valve B or the shift solenoid harness
PCM may need to be updated with the latest software
