Short in Shift Solenoid Valve D Circuit
Description
The return signal does not match the command to turn ON shift solenoid valve D for at least 1 second. The execution time is continuous and the duration time is 1 seconds or more. Battery voltage is 11v, and DTCs P0973, P0974, P0983 are not active. NOTE: This code is caused by an electrical circuit problem and cannot be caused by a mechanical problem in the transmission.
Cause and Solution
Blown Fuse
Poor connections and loose terminals at shift solenoid valve D and the PCM. If the PCM
SHD wire for an intermittent short to ground between shift solenoid valve D and the PCM
Open in the wire between PCM connector terminal and the under-dash fuse relay box
Short in the wire between PCM connector terminal and the shift solenoid harness connector
Faulty shift solenoid valve D or the shift solenoid harness
PCM needs to be updated with the latest software
