Intake Manifold Tuning (IMT) Valve Stuck in Low RPM Position
Description
When the PCM sends an open (short runner) command, no short runner return signal is received for at least 3 seconds. Intake air temperature 5 ºF (-15 ºC), engine speed is 3,800 rpm and battery voltage minimum of 10.5v. DTCs P0107, P0108, P0112, P0113, P0117, P0118, P0563, P1128, P1129, P2227, P2228, P2229 are not active. NOTE: NOTE: Before you troubleshoot, record all freeze data and any on-board snapshot.
Cause and Solution
Poor connections or loose terminals at the IMT actuator and the PCM
Open or Short circuit between the PCM and the IMT actuator
Faulty IMT actuator
PCM needs to be updated with the latest software
