IAT Sensor Circuit Malfunction
Description
Engine started; engine runtime over 3 minutes and the PCM detected the IAT sensor was more than 282ºF, or the IAT sensor signal was less than -40ºF for 10 seconds at idle speed.
Cause and Solution
IAT sensor signal circuit is open between the sensor and PCM
IAT sensor signal circuit is shorted to sensor or chassis ground
IAT sensor signal circuit is shorted to VREF
IAT ground circuit is open between the sensor and the PCM
