Description

The engine control module (ECM) sends information to the electrical power steering module (EPS) indicating that the engine is running via the CAN network. The diagnostic trouble code (DTC) is stored in the electrical power steering module (EPS) if the electrical power steering module (EPS) registers that the engine status signal and the engine speed signal are incorrect or absent from the engine control module (ECM). The diagnostic trouble code (DTC) can be diagnosed when the ignition is switched on.
