Invalid Data Received From Steering Angle Sensor Module. Algorithm Based Failures. Event Information
Description
The control modules in the vehicle send and receive information continuously on the vehicles controller area network (CAN). If a control module registers a fault, the control module can then transmit a signal informing that its information cannot be trusted. The diagnostic trouble code (DTC) is stored if the control module detects: The signal that informs that the information from the Steering wheel angle sensor module (SAS) is incorrect. The control modules test for the diagnostic trouble code (DTC) starts in the event of: Ignition switch position II. Note! The control module can only detect the fault once the test has been started and the diagnostic trouble code (DTC) is stored when the conditions are met.
Cause and Solution
Fault-trace the Steering wheel angle sensor module (SAS).
