Rocker Arm Oil Control Solenoid (VTEC Solenoid Valve) Circuit Low Voltage
Description
The return signal is OFF (low) for at least 2 seconds when the PCM outputs the ON (high) signal to the rocker arm oil control solenoid. DTC P2649 is not active. NOTE: Before you troubleshoot, record all freeze data and any on-board snapshot.
Cause and Solution
Low oil level
Low oil pressure
Poor connections or loose terminals at the rocker arm oil control solenoid and the PCM
Short circuit between the PCM and the rocker arm oil control solenoid
Faulty rocker arm oil control solenoid
PCM needs to be updated with the latest software
