Description
The Steering wheel angle sensor module (SAS) is located in the lever module together with the steering wheel module (SWM) and is supplied with power by it. Only the steering wheel angle sensor module (SAS) communicates on the controller area network (CAN). A diagnostic trouble code (DTC) is stored if the control module detects: The Steering wheel angle sensor module (SAS) loses contact with the Central electronic module (CEM). The control modules test for the diagnostic trouble code (DTC) starts in the event of: Ignition switch position II.
Cause and Solution
Open-circuit in the CAN cables between the control module and the Central Electronic Module (CEM).Internal fault in the central electronic module (CEM).
