IMA-CAN Malfunction (BUS-OFF (Motor Control Module (MCM)) (HYBRID MODELS)
Description
With the ignition ON and the MCM power-supply voltage a minimum of 10.2 V, no signal via the can lines are received for at least 0.5 seconds. (IMA system indicator is ON) WARNING: The IMA system uses high voltage (144 V), before servicing turn OFF the battery module switch.
Cause and Solution
Poor connections or loose terminals at the PCM and the MCM Open or Short circuit between the PCM and the MCM Update the PCM if it does not have the latest software, or substitute a known-good PCM Update the MCM if it does not have the latest software, or substitute a known-good MCM
