PCM – Vehicle Speed Signal (VSS) Malfunction
Description
The PCM monitors the Vehicle speed signal (VSS) at the PCM terminal. If the PCM detects that the Turbine Shaft Speed (TSS) sensor or the Output Shaft Sensor (OSS) remains on for 2 min. , the PCM determines that the VSS has a malfunction.
Cause and Solution
VSS malfunction Connector or terminal malfunction Short to power circuit in wiring from VSS and PCM terminal. Short to ground circuit in wiring from VSS and PCM terminal. PCM has failed
