Knock Sensor Circuit Malfunction
Description
The execution time is continuous and the duration time is 5 seconds or more. Engine running, speed 2,000 rpm or more, coolant temerature at 140 ºF (60 ºC) or more. No signals from the knock sensor are detected for at least 5 seconds. If the signals from the knock sensor do not vary for a set time, the PCM detects a malfunction and stores a DTC. NOTE: Before you troubleshoot, record all freeze data and any on-board snapshot.
Cause and Solution
Poor connections or loose terminals at the knock sensor and the PCM Open or Short circuit between the PCM and the knock sensor sub-harness Open or Short circuit in the knock sensor subharness Poor connections or loose terminals at the ignition coil, the injector, and the PCM Faulty knock sensor PCM may need to be updated with the latest software Faulty PCM
